Wish List, and Update

Just a thought. If anyone wants to get this for me, I'd be happy.

In other news, I am doing well. In the last two weeks, I've been both doctored and dentisted, and I hit doctor number two on Monday.

There are No Goths at UGA. Hippies, jocks, preps, punks, and every other aspect of humanity. There are two cemetaries on campus, and I cant find another person wearing black on all of the north side of campus.

... Jesus fucking h christ on a stick...

This is Wrong in So Many Ways

.... I've seen alot of crazy ads in my life... but this takes the cake and several muffins just for shear level of wrongness.

The ad is for Spontex, a new sponge/scrubber thing. It ends up being... Hedgehog pr0n.

And yes, this is a Real Ad. Check the website out for some other really good comercials. In particular, the Prince of Persia 3d comercal is very good.

Oh, and also... it likes you.

Mexican worshipers flock to St. Death

Mexico City - At a makeshift shrine in the Mexico City barrio of Tepito, ever-larger crowds gather each month to pray to a 6-foot skeletal figure wielding a scythe in one bony, bejeweled hand and cradling the world in the other.

She is called La Santa Muerte, or St. Death.

Centuries old, her popularity rising, St. Death attracts a coarse crowd of hundreds the first night of each month - to the discomfort of church officials.

Did I mention I love the practicality of some Catholics? If you're going to worship something, pick something reliable. The sun, the moon, death...

A Dream

I'm not offten in the habbit of writing down my dreams, but there was something about this one that told me that I need to write it down.
I'm at an amusement park, which my mind identifies as Six Flags, but also as being owned by Disney. I'm there with two other people: a male cousin (which I don't have), and his next door neighbor who I know fairly well who is also his semi girl friend (who I dont know in real life either). We are taking her on various roller coasters because she has never been on one before.
While we are deciding which rollercoaster to take her on next, I spot Wolven walking along, listening to his walkman. He's dressed in his usual boots, black shirt, black jeans, and black long coat. What is different is that he has two small white spots in the front of his hair, which look like the start of white streaks. I flag him down with a hug, and introduce him to the girl. Somehow, the male cousin has vanished, but I introduce him in discribing why we are there. We talk for a bit, and then I tell him about a part of the park which isnt open yet that I saw, that I think he would be interested in seeing. He agrees, and we walk off to go see it.
As we walk acorss the park, we are suddenly surounded with hundreds of while herons. Some are on the ground, and we have to walk around them as they squabble and display, others are perched up on the railings and benches, watching the ones on the ground. I remember in particular walking through the middle of a group of about six of them, all of whom were in a circle, bowing towards the outside of the cirlce. Some sort of mating display, I thought in the dream.
We eventually got to the area, a pathway which was submerged under a small creek. We walked out onto it, and crossed a small waterfall, with a submerged pathway made of cobble stones, and then came to an archway of greenery, trees and ivy, with a huge light scafold built under it. Something said that this was the moss and red mud testing area. We walked on ahead, but soon found ourselves unable to stand in the current, but had to half swim, half crawl through the water. I remember vividly using my hands like claws, digging into this strangely textured mud on the bottom of the stream, pulling myself against the current.
The three of us struggled up the river, then suddenly, the current stopped. It was like we had reached a boundary. The texture of the river mud changed, and the current was gone. We walked on, and the surounding forest became a tropical jungle. The creek turned into a wash gully through white clay, with high banks which eventually were higher than our heads. As we walked the banks came closer and closer together over our heads, until it was only a seam in the earth above us. The stream vanished, and I knew this was the place.
I reached up, telling the others to be very quiet, and used my fingers to push apart the bank like I was opening a bag. It parted perfectly, smoothly. And there, in front of us, was a green gully, lined with blooming flowers and ferns and a myriad of tropical plants. And in this gully were three beautiful women, dressed in strange, glowing clothing, and yet they themselves seemd to glow as well. Their skin was silvery, as was their hair. They were somehow part plant, part human, and very magical seeming.
They were gathered around a single plant, aranged in a triangle pattern, moving their hands in a coaching way, as though manipulating something invisible. As I watched with growing facination and somehow horror, the plant began to flower, producing a purple, orcid like flower which hung down from its stem. It seemed to glow from the inside. As they moved, the flower began to grow legs and arms, and the purple glow formed a triangle of light. Slowly, the flower became a woman, no bigger than my lower arm, with the glowing purple triangle embeded in her chest.
"That's how they are doing it." I remember saying to Wolven and the girl. "They captured them. Or made a deal with them." I don't know who I meant, or what was wrong, but something about it horrified me. There was something very wrong with what I had just seen.
And then suddenly in the dream, I was unconscious. I regained consciosuness, but was unable to move, paralyzed, unable to open my eyes. Then I managed to open them, and was in some strange bed somewhere. I looked down at my hand and saw strange marks. I reached over and pulled out four plugs of strange, white material, each one looking like fish flesh. As I looked at each one, I thought something different. The only one I remember clearly was the second one, which made me think the fighting had just begun.
It was then I woke, suddenly, nearly sitting bolt upright in bed. I lay back down, trying to think of what the dream meant, and thinking I should go back to sleep. And then thinking that I Really needed to write the dream down. So I did.

Tango

I was just reminded of something I really miss from the UK: Tango Sparkling Orange. This stuff was 3 kinds of sugar, orange flavor/juice, and sparkling water. It was awesome. Came in a black can with an orange pull tab.

I can find it online, but if anyone knows who its made by, or how I can get it in the US without ordering it through a food importer, I'd love to know.

Also - LVL 32 PLD today - pulled an all nighter in the Jungle, with a great party. Paladin is offically my highest level job now in FFXI. Chozo (Erik) is now 31 Summoner, and quite happy about it.

Next it Garlage Citidel or to Altep. Not sure which. Here we go!

A Minor Victory

A minor victory, at least for me. I passed my first symbolic logic exam. I still suck at proofs, but I managed to fake a mathematical induction proof, and managed to fake enough of the other stuff to actually pass.
Sorry, this was a major stress point for me. Moving on.

Also of note, don't forget that the last major total lunar eclipse visable in the Northern Hemisphere for something like 3 years is coming up at the end of this month, on the night of the 27th, 28th. Find someplace awesome to watch this from.

Cafeen Beer and other News

Well, I was trying to avoid making a post today, but it seems the world is against me. Things are going well here in Athens, and other places, and life continues on. Well, relativly well at least. I'm failing my logic class.. unless I did really well on the first exam, that is. I wolnt drop it, but I will probably barely pass it. I was never good at logic...
Other good news - the ceiling fan in my apt was finally repaired, so I dont need the AC on constantly at night. Yay low power bill! My front door just got painted, so it no longer looks like someone died on it while puking. Yay! And the main fire extinguisher finally got replaced. Yay! So yeah, life is pretty decent up here.
In other news, Erik and his family got a new kitten. He's 6 weeks old right now, a fuzzy orange with white bib and neck ruff, and a white arrow head on his back. And he has 26 toes. Yes, 26 toes. Most cats have 18 toes, but this kitty has an extra toe on each back paw, and an extra 3 on both front ones. And they ALL have claws. Oh yeah... his name - Digits.
He's way too cute, which is probably why no one has killed him yet. I'll hopefully have pics this weekend to post.
Also, more good news - It looks like the SSN thing was a fluke. I've gotten my credit reports and Social Security Report, and no other instances of it show up other than things that are mine. Which means the cable company probably had things wrong, not a person using my SSN. I'm keeping the fraud report active on my file, however, just in case.
And one last thing - As if my tendancy towards Red Bull and Absinthe weren't bad enough... Anheuser-Busch presents This. I may try it, even though I've never been a Busch fan. It looks like it could be a truely evil base for some drinks.
