A New Meme

Something stuck me while walking to class. So here is a new meme - for those who read this, take this, and repeat for yourself.

Seven things I have felt / experienced that the majority of the world will never share

1) I know what it is like to be out of mana.

2) I have huggled a tarutaru.

3) I have stood in the Forum of Rome.

4) I have read something in Latin for pleasure.

5) I have enjoyed the process of research for itself as an end.

6) I have had a conversation with a house cat.

7) I know the fun of browsing through a used bookstore for nothing in particular.

If you meet the Buddha...

Give him a doggy treat.

Its a MMORPG!

While it becomes quickly obvious that The Witcher is a PC exclusive game which are typically designed to be as complex and unintuitive as possible so that those dirty console playing peasants don't ruin it for the glorious PC gaming master race.

In Soviet Russia, Thesis Works on You!

Mostly complete (short an introduction and some bits of the conclusion and a few citations) draft of thesis sent to director.

Thoughts: Thomas Jefferson had a time machine, and Kant needed a change of pace.

Well, if you calculate in time deflation....

"It astonishes me to find... [that so many] of our countrymen... should be contented to live under a system which leaves to their governors the power of taking from them the trial by jury in civil cases, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of commerce, the habeas corpus laws, and of yoking them with a standing army. This is a degeneracy in the principles of liberty... which I [would not have expected for at least] four centuries." --Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, 1788. (*) FE 5:3

Excuse me while I go sharpen my forks...

Snake robots can use their many internal degrees of freedom to thread through tightly packed volumes and access locations that people and machinery otherwise cannot. These highly articulated devices can coordinate their internal degrees of freedom to perform a variety of locomotive gaits that go beyond the capabilities of conventional wheeled and legged robots. The true power of these devices is their versatility; they can crawl, climb, swim, and scale flights of stairs.

Gary Gygax Fails Last Saving Throw

My fellow lore folks.... take a moment to remember a master of the LoreCraft and one of the Gods of the RPG genre -

Gary Gygax, one of the creators of D&D, passed on today at the age of 69 from complications due to multiple strokes and heart problems.

Roll 1d6 and keep him in your memories. We owe to him the structure and framework of modern RPGs and, as a byproduct, the entire MMO Genre.

Excuse me, I'll be crying over my first print AD&D manuals in the corner.

More in: We needed a test to know this?

Your Score: Eeyore

You scored 17 Ego, 14 Anxiety, and 9 Agency!

"Do you know what A means, little Piglet?"

"No, Eeyore, I don't."

"It means Learning, it means Education, it means all
the things that you and Pooh haven't got. That's what A means."

"Oh," said Piglet again. "I mean, does it?" he
explained quickly.

"I'm telling you. People come and go in this Forest,
and they say, 'It's only Eeyore, so it doesn't count.' They
walk to and fro saying 'Ha ha!' But do they know anything about
A? They don't. It's just three sticks to them. But to the
Educated--mark this, little Piglet--to the Educated, not
meaning Poohs and Piglets, it's a great and glorious A.

You scored as Eeyore!

ABOUT EEYORE: Eeyore lives in his own thistley corner of the forest and wonders why people don't come to visit him more often. He is master of the Guilt Trip, and is always gently forgiving his visitors for neglecting him. Eeyore considers himself to be smarter than the other inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood, and is often exasperated by their habit of having adventures and general merriment.

WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are an anxious person, and you tend to expect the worst. Your friends find you somewhat cynical at times, because you have found that it is best to expect disappointment. You often feel unappreciated by the people you work with, but you rarely actually try and do anything to change that fact.

Your close friends admire you more than you think they do. They wish that you would learn to stop worrying so much and actually start trying to fix what is bothering you. If something is making you unhappy... change it!
